I complete my review of DC’s New Age of Heroes initiative by talking about The Unexpected #1 (and a bit of #2) by Ryan Sook, Cary Nord, Steve Orlando, Mick Gray, Wade von Grawbadger, FCO Plascencia, Carlos M. Mangual, Dave Weilgosz, and Katie Kubert.
It’s Episode 340 of the Wayne’s Comics Podcast, and this week we begin a series of episodes featuring interviews from this year’s San Diego Comic Con, which took place from July 19 through the 22nd! First up, you’ll hear my chat with Paul Dini from DC, followed by my interview with Image Comics’ Blackbird co-creator Sam Humphries. After that is Cecil Castellucci and Marly Zarcone discussing DC’s Shade the Changing Girl, followed by IDW’s John Barber, who talks about the recent news about Marvel and IDW teaming up to reach more younger readers. Next up is legendary creator Steve Orlando discussing DC’s The Unexpected. Things wrap up with Sam Humphries (back again), this time with artist John Timms talking about their upcoming run on DC’s Harley Quinn, among other things! Please note that I did have some slight technical trouble, so you might hear a crackle or two, but not often! As always, special thanks to Charlotte Sandler from BH Impact and the folks at DC Comics’ publicity as well as the people from IDW and Image! Next week, even more SDCC interviews! You’ll find the sequence and times you can hear each interview during the podcast below:
