Don’t miss Episode 80 of the Wayne’s Comics podcast!
I have a great conversation with James Tynion IV, the Bat-creator who works with Scott Snyder on the back-up in Batman and on the successful Talon, and who is taking over Red Hood and the Outlaws in the very near future! We discuss Batman #16 and his favorite DCU characters, and he gives a hint or two about what we can expect in Talon and Red Hood in the future! It’s always extra-special when I get to talk with someone who works on the Dark Knight, so don’t miss it!
Then I review this week’s comics, and everything wraps up with Steve Davis joining me to talk about the latest ‘News & Previews!’
Joining regular hosts Gavin and Dan in the Danger Room this episode is local comic book shop owner and fiends to the Sidekicks, Rob Fish. They all talk some bollocks about comics and movies including Avengers Assemble, Iron Man 3 and Gambit before moving on to some reviews in Stack Attack.
Reviews: AvX#1-2, The Omega Effect, Secret #1, Secret Service #1. Smoke and Mirrors #2, Red Hood and the Outlaws #8, America’s Got Powers #1, The Manhattan Projects #2 and possibly more I can’t quite remember right now.
In a twist to the usual set up, Rob tests both Sidekicks as he takes over Secrets and Lies and Smack My Pitch Up makes a dramatic return to the Sidekick final segment spot. Don’t forget to listen past the outro music for the usual brand of ridicule and disaster.
If You like comics than this is the episode for you. We talk comics. We talk TV shows about comics. We talk ordering comics. We even talk about Curious George..wait what?!?!?! Besides comics we have a slight discussion on the 1967 TV series The PRisoner and Hammer Studios. Kevin Hates the Justice League TJ Loves the Red Hood, and everyone loves DCBS. Whispers and Walking Dead is discussed. as is the problem with pre ordering. Lastly Swamp thing is brought up to speed and has entered TJ’s top favorite DC books.

A new era begins for the Sidekickcast, from the ashes of the Sidekick Civil War rises a new website and a revitalized podcast. Don’t worry it’s same old dick and fart jokes with your regular co-hosts Gavin Jones and Dan Marshall, they even manage to throw in some comic chat in between trying to make each other laugh. The show starts with some news updates on Sin City 2, Sidekick favourite topic; Age of Apocalypse and the new Avengers line up.
With a new start comes new reviews in Stack Attack as Dan has become totally overcome by DCNu fever, Marvel zombie no more, he’s now a total New 52 convert.
Secrets and Lies, the comic book news quiz with a twist is still rocking but will Dan be able to take advantage of Gavin’s recent bad form as the replacement Sidekicks have shown him how it’s really done?
To end out the show we ask for your help in deciding our new final segment, you have the power in #youdecide. Don’t forget to listen past the outro music for the usual brand of bad manners, extremely inappropriate language and out takes that would make Jeremy Beadle turn in his tiny little grave.
The New 52 titles roll-on this episode! Pick Of The Week goes to Geoff Johns & Jim Lee for Justice League #2 (DC)! Fast Five picks include Batman #2 (DC), Catwoman #2 (DC), B.P.R.D. Russia #2 (Dark Horse), Red Hood & The Outlaws #2 (DC), and Wonder Woman #2 (DC). Spoilers!
With Daniel Marshall still out of the picture, Gavin resorts to a different tactic in the search for a new co-host, he replaces one Daniel with another as Daniel Clifford takes to the hot seat. There’s a lot of talk about Daniel, mostly by himself and then they look at some comics. In fact a lot of comics. Stack Attack sees the majority of the The DC New 52 in one hit, foolish some may say…they’d be right.
Secrets and Lies; the comic book news quiz with a twist has a new challenger and one that is maybe up to the task. Daniel brings with him a choice for Dig That! as the new duo review The Amazing Spider-Man: Origin of the Species. Then everything changes…
No Pick Of The Week, but we do have a Fantastic Fast Five! Picks include Catwoman #1 (DC), Supergirl #1 (DC), Star Trek #1 (IDW), Wonder Woman #1 (DC), and Red Hood And The Outlaws #1 (DC). All number one issues this week, with a lot of GIRL POWER! controversy sprinkled in throughout the titles. Spoilers!
