Comic Book Pitt #105 – The Story of Us

SPOILER WARNING: To avoid BIG Amazing Spider-Man reveals, skip from 57:20 to 1:04:15. You’ve been warned.

In this episode of CBP, we find out that Dan and Duke apparently knew each other as teens and even starred together in a movie from the 1980’s. They were the original Coreys.

Anyway, there are plenty of reviews and we get the awkward ones out of the way first. We talk about CAPTAIN AMERICA #1, JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #646, INDESTRUCTIBLE HULK #1, DAREDEVIL #20, AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #698, and JUDGE DREDD #1.

Also, Comic Book Pitt bids farewell to our friend, our podcaster-in-arms, the Podfather himself, Nick Marino, as he leaves Pittsburgh for sunny California. Thanks to the dark magic of the internet, Nick will still be around, but we’ll miss him nonetheless.

Comic Book Pitt #102 – FrankenDuke!

After we get our Comic Book Men hate out of the way, we blow up the Disney/Lucasfilm news and talk about Cyber Force #1, Punisher War Zone #1, I, Vampire #13, Frankencastle TPB, and Daredevil #19. Quick shout-outs also go out to Battle Beasts #4, Hawkeye #3, and X-O Manowar #6.

Comic Book Pitt: Kill Your Comic #1

Sometimes, a comic book is so terrible, that it’s not enough to throw it
away or give it away; you may need to get your hands dirty and kill
your comic.

In our first installment of KYC, we deep-fry the craptactular Youngblood #71.

Comic Book Pitt does not endorse deep-frying comic books and takes no
responsibility for any injuries or damage that may occur in the process.

Comic Book Pitt #83 – Let’s Get Rob!

IT’S A BOLD NEW DIRECTION!

IT ALL STARTS HERE!

EVERYTHING CHANGES!

THE ALL NEW, ALL DIFFERENT COMIC BOOK PITT!

Okay, well maybe we’re exaggerating a little with those cliched comic book sayings. It’s still Dan and the Duke, but it’s a brand new year and we have a lot to talk about. We’ve been gone for three weeks, but the comic book industry stops for no one. We talk about the recent New 52 cancellations/replacements, Rob “I Have More Lives Than a Cat” Liefeld’s New 52 assignments, Walt Simonson on Avengers, Gene Ha on Justice League, DC Comics’ new logo and, of course, we manage to squeeze in a few reviews.

We’ve also issued one challenge to ourselves: to interview Rob Liefeld. Love him or hate him, Rob is one of the most well known personalities in comics and has had an incredible (and some might say, infamous) career.
