X-Men Back Issues Ep. 8.2: Wolverine/Gambit (1995) Podcast Discussion

This episode was originally recorded on Wednesday, August 29th. Want to support the podcast and receive this show early plus more? Check out our Patreon, here.

While Allen and I were outside playing as kids, this story was surfacing around the comic sphere. It wouldn’t surprise me if my brother had these issues in his long box. I’m assuming if he did, he buried them deep to never resurface. Well, we travel back to read this team up and boy oh boy….was this a “fun” read? Tune in to find out. Thanks for listening!

Hey Kids, Comics! Vol2 30 Daredevil – Yellow

0d9c

TThere is no game talk in this episode, instead Micheal and Andrew get back to discussing the first of the Marvel Colours Trilogy, Daredevil – Yellow. It’s pretty damn good so if you haven’t already go and read a copy before we yak about it and ruin it for you. As usual, there is some email silliness, contributions from listeners and the patented general buffoonery. And a special shout out to Thomas Deja.

Hey Kids, Comics! Vol2 22 Spider-Man Blue

0d9c

In an episode decidedly less Blue than the last few weeks, Micheal and Andrew turn their to attention to one of the three colours trilogy – No, not the arty French films but the comic book series by Jeph Loeb & Tim Sale; Spider-Man Blue. Marvel at proper storytelling, glourious sequential art and an actual narrative! Listen as Jazz standards float around your head as we explore love, loss and smacking people upside the head!

Comic News Insider Episode 337 – Heroes Con Iconography Panel w/ Darwyn Cooke, Ed McGuinness, Don Rosa, Tim Sale

Comic News Insider: Episode 337 is now available for free download! Click on the link or get it through iTunes! Sponsored by Dynamic Forces.

Yet even more Heroes Con love! Jimmy moderated a great panel at Heroes Con called TAKING ON THE PROPERTY: ICONOGRAPHY with comic book titans Darwyn Cooke (The Spirit, DC’s New Frontier, Parker), Ed McGuinness (Deadpool, Superman/Batman), Don Rosa (Scrooge McDuck) and Tim Sale (Batman, Hulk, Spider-Man). Here is the whole panel in it’s entirety. The idea of the panel was how they took an established character and put their own stamp on it. Some great things were discussed by these amazing cartoonists. Thanks again to pal Mike Cho for hanging out to intro/outro this episode. Leave your iTunes comments! 5 stars and nothing but love!
