Jimmy was at San Diego Comic Con and all we got was this lousy t-shirt! It was a crazy busy time and he covered a ton of press rooms from Orphan Black to Supergirl to The Walking Dead. He also had a chance to do some 1:1s. You’ll hear him chat with the awesome Raina Telgemeier about her upcoming graphic novel, Ghosts, as well as her past work. Jimmy talked to Jeffrey Brown about the first book in his new series Lucy and Andy Neanderthal. He also talked to old buddy John Layman about the Predator vs Judge Dredd vs Aliens comic he’s writing as well as wrapping up his big hit Chew. And finally, you can sit in on Jimmy’s annual therapy session…uh…interview with psychologist friend Dr. Andrea Letamendi. They talk about the psychology of some recent superhero films and more! No news or reviews or Top 3 in this episode as he’s still recovering from it all. But you get a quick recap with some highlights!

Over the next few weeks, there wont be a regular format show. You’ll get a lot of special episodes covering the press rooms for Arrow, Animaniacs, Agents of SHIELD, The, Flash, Gotham, Supergirl, The Walking Dead, iZombie, Justice League: Action, The Powerpuff Girls, We Bare Bears, Teen Titans Go, Legends of Tomorrow, Orphan Black, Rick and Morty, Riverdale, Steven Universe, and Wynonna Earp. Special thanks to Kelly Bedard of My Entertainment World for partnering up and covering some of the rooms that Jimmy couldn’t cover.

Reviews: Genius #1, Howtoons (Re)Ignition #1, Usagi Yojimbo Senso #1

Jimmy planned on having the podcast wife Erica on to co-host but due to a work commitment (on his part) he had to go solo. Next week there shall be a co-host! He discusses the demise of The Podcast Arena at New York Comic Con this year and mourns/gives tribute to one of his idols Robin Williams. Jimmy sat in the roundtables for the hit BBC America show Orphan Black and chatted with stars and producers Tatiana Maslany, Jordan Gavaris, Maria Doyle Kennedy, Ari Millen, Dylan Bruce, Kristian Bruun, Graeme Manson, and John Fawcet. The roundtables were brief as they had to rush off to their panel but we got some good questions in. Apologies for the annoying/unprofessional reporter from HGTV whom manipulated the tables with her inane questions and often interrupted talent to chat with them. Besides that, and while brief, we still managed to get some exciting news about the upcoming season! Jimmy also chatted with amazing cartoonist Gene Luen Yang about his new graphic novel The Shadow Hero and some of his awesome past comic work. News includes: a new Batman comic called Gotham by Midnight coming from Ray Fawkes/Ben Templesmith, Disney theme parks will add more Star Wars and Kyle Maclachlan joins Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Leave your iTunes comments! 5 stars and nothing but love!

Jimmy is joined in studio by his new favorite co-host, Erica Schultz! Jimmy chats about his visit to BookExpo America and how he chatted with some of the comic book publishers there. Alas, no interviews but some good info about an upcoming comic book or two! Also, Jimmy is traumatized by the recent episode of Game of Thrones and the recent Justice League America #4. Good thing Erica brought some of her hubby’s famous chocolate chip cookies to soothe his pain! They also chat about the upcoming Heroes Con and what they have planned. Erica is on a panel and is doing a signing at the Comic News Insider booth. Jimmy will be hosting the booth, moderating 3 panels (see info below), doing tons of interviews, taking pictures and more. You’ll also see CNI correspondents running around like Melissa Bleier and photographers Faren and Faith as well as new helper Amber! And a mystery guest rings the doorbell!
