what-is-actually-wrong-with-the-new-52-54e2cd49-45a3-447b-a830-d81c1ed30a27-jpeg-99161

It’s been a tough couple of weeks in Weird Science Land…After the fallout from Eric’s Batman #44 review started to settle, Twitter decided to flag the site as “malicious”!  Delicious maybe, but malicious?  While Eric tries to calm the ship, Jim has conspiracy theories and is just generally pissed off.  After Jim loses his voice and takes too much cold medicine, they hunker down to talk some comics and actually end up in a pretty good mood.  Who knows what the future holds, but one things for sure, “Bricks no hit back”.

ep 33: “Late Night Sleepover Fun” With not a lot of news, but plenty of Listener Mail and Comic Books, Jim and Eric get down to business and talk and talk and talk…  While they couldn’t remember the name of seminal band, Sugar Ray, they did remember Welcome Back Kotter, Guns and Roses and Third Eye Blind among other nonsense.  They are also joined by Reggie for his Recklessness and Ryan Clark’s Other Side segment featuring Welcome Back #1.  All that was missing is a stuffed crust pizza and a Puppet Master movie to make this a throwback sleepover extravaganza!

Comic Timing – Episode 152

lego-will-arnett-batman-600

According to Brent, this episode is titled, “The Back-Up Plan: The All Bitching Episode.” Although we do a lot more than just bitch, I promise. Brent and I are joined by Mr. Raphael Soohoo as we discuss The Flash’s new TV outfit, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and the season so far (including the Sif episode), The Lego Movie, Brent’s review of Justice League: War, the official cancellation of Beware The Batman!, the announcement of the Arkham Knight game, my thoughts on Fables: The Worlf Among Us, and plenty more. We also review some comics, including Forever Evil #6, Superman/Wonder Woman #6 both She-Hulk and Ms. Marvel #1, Secret Avengers, Image Comics’ Zero and some other stuff here and there.

As a warning, there was a chirping noise that kept recurring throughout the recording. We couldn’t trace the source, so it’s there throughout. I did my best to get rid of it whenever possible, but it’s still there occasionally. Shouldn’t be too loud or annoying, I swear! Also, next week we should be joined by Sean and Jim of Raging Bullets, as due to power outages we had to push their episode back a week. So barring any other weird weather, it shall be done!

And in this episode, you’ll hear the first of three Heroes Con panels that Jimmy moderated. This one with Amanda Connor, Jimmy Palmiotti and Frank Tieri. It’s full of hilarity and comic book goodness! He briefly chats about the new Shezow on The Hub, Jeff Robinov quitting at Warner Bros. and Charles Soule on the new Superman/Wonder Woman. News includes:  Boom! Studios merges with Archaia Entertainment, Joe Hill’s Locke & Key gets picked up by Universal for movie development, William Fichtner is Shredder, and 70’s Zod makes them kneel before him in the bathroom.
