The Media Masochist #1

0d9c

When Chris has had a hard day at work, or his girlfriend has dumped him and hooked up with that stupid drummer or his rent is late and his dog died- he likes to share his pain. He does this by subjecting himself to horrible media and then bitching about it. It doesn’t really make Chris feel any better, but Chris has heard that it’s pretty entertaining to other people. Would you like to listen? Good, because here it is. Now you are just as dysfunctional as Chris, and, yes, this is Chris typing this in the third person. THAT’S just how dysfunctional Chris is. This podcast is not for the kiddies, so tell them to F@*K OFF!

Episode 8 – Trailer Trash Talk

In this classic and much more free-form show, The Freaks discuss the teasers and trailers for such then-upcoming films as Frank Miller’s “The Spirit”, “TR2N” (now retitled “TRON: Legacy”), “Terminator: Salvation” and the remake of “The Day The Earth Stood Still” among others.

Chris throws one of his best on-air fits ever all about garage sale etiquette and Scott invents the phrase “hobby raping”. Add some Firesign Theatre, the Justice League roll call, and a trip to the Freak Museum and you it’s easy to see why this is one of the Freaks’ most beloved episodes.

The song featured in the Freak Museum segment is “Our Song” by Roger Waters from the soundtrack to the movie “The Body”.

Enjoy!!

Episode 6 – The Dark Knight “First Impressions” Review

Has The BAT Jumped The SHARK?

Well, here it is!! You’ve heard about it, you’ve read about it, now listen to this legendary episode for yourself!! Yes, friends, there actually were people that :gasp: DIDN’T LIKE The Dark Knight!!

Join The Freaks, Chris Honeywell and Scott H. Gardner, for their MOST CONTROVERSIAL EPISODE EVER (yes, even MORE controversial than the ancient astronauts episode!!) in which they treat Christopher Nolan’s so-called “epic” the way Ozzie Osbourne treats a bat’s head.

Yeah, yeah, they know — you LOVED it, right? The whole damned world loved it. But maybe now…..after the initial rush has worn off and you’ve come down off that Mountain Dew-induced nerd-high, maybe, just maybe, you can spot some of the chips and cracks in this current Caped Crusader’s nipple-free batsuit, too…

Or not…

ENJOY!!

F Bombcast 42: We Dare to be Frank about Miller you Devil!

FBC Shirt3Holy Hell is that a long title for an episode. Does the contents of the show warrant the amazing use of TJ’s Wit?  You will have to listen and decide for yourselves. In this Episode many things are discussed, much of which I cannot remember even though I did the show last night and just listened to the show this morning. Kevin talks about cutting his comics budget and three LCS’s just went out of business. Midtown even offered to show him the glory hole in back where all the good customers get to “enjoy their books.” Frank Miller is the spotlight and we learn what a man of honor and virtue he is. Oh and I think Poop is discussed somewhere. Shoot us an E-mail
