This week the guys take on The Mighty Thor! That’s right they sit down and discuss Thor Ragnarok. Staring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Cate Blanchett Thor Ragnarok is the seventeenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. And the guys discuss it in detail, be warned there are spoilers ahead, enjoy!
This week we go back in time and cover The Mighty Thor #290! Man-Gog is back! Thor murders a tree! Sif gets sent to the Blackworld! There are trolls and dinosaur/bird things! Odin assembles an old fogey army! Excitement abounds!
It’s a computer problems special! Part 5 of this compilation includes “The Lay of Vafthrudnir” from Ep. 126, “Thor’s Journey To Utgard” from Ep. 99, and “The Lay of Hymir” from Ep. 207! There are feats of strength! Lame Goats! Dead giants! Odin dickery! Thor going on a fishing trip! Good stuff, y’all!
It’s a mythology show this week, as we cover two tales from Neil Gaiman’s adaptation of the Norse Myths, “Mimir’s Head and Odin’s Eye” and “The Treasures of the Gods” – We’ve heard the tales before, but not quite like this, so check em out!
OK, how about something a little more recent? This week we look at Mighty Thor #1 (2016) – Yes, it’s the continuation of Jane Foster’s adventures as she goes up against a falling satellite, everyone sings “It’s Raining Elves!”, the Avengers show up and then leave, and Loki gets face pubes! Fluff said!
This week we have a look at Stan Lee’s final regular issue of The Mighty Thor, issue #192! It’s Thor vs. Durok! At Mardi Gras! In a sterotypical South American dictatorship! Plus, Balder and Karnilla go to Mount Everest! Odin sleeps, and Durok gets a manicure between issues! We also have a look at what else was going on in comic-land that month! Nuff said!
With Loki in charge of Asgard, Thor, Balder, Sif and the Warriors Three have to fight a pair of flying hands! Odin gets sent to bed (apparently) without his supper, Loki grows really big, and everyone keeps stating the obvious! (Hey, it’s a Stan Lee comic) Plus there’s a big bald guy! Nuff said!
This week we go back to the Iron Age, as we cover “The Binding of Loki”, courtesy of Snorri Sturluson and others. After the death of Balder, Loki goes off to hide on earth disguised as a fish! A little Asgardian sushi, anyone?
This week we return to the Iron Age, with the tale of “Thor and Geirrod” – This one is a cracker of a tale which includes a shapeshifted Loki being locked in a chest for three months, a river that I sure wouldn’t want to swim in, and some good old Thor vs. Giant action!
