comictimingitunesEP_small

Things are happening! Time to catch you guys up with an Extra Point. This episode focuses on changes in Ian’s life and, subsequently, how he collects comics. Time to go completely digital. There’s also a little bit of discussion on Star Trek: Beyond and how it blew expectations out of the water, how fans should give it a rest with their attempt to shut down Rotten Tomatoes, Vito Delsante‘s Kickstarter for Stray: The Ongoing Series, Jamal Igle’s label for this year’s Brooklyn Brewery Defender IPA, and a lot more. Tons of stuff jam-packed into a half hour of content!

You can e-mail the show at comictiming@gmail.com and be sure to Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ComicTiming. Be sure to follow Ian on Twitter @i_am_scifi, or on Tumblr at heehaw-ds9.tumblr.com; Brent is on Twitter too @kossinab. Date and time and TBD, but you can find out all the info on Guidebook once it is available.

Comic Timing – Episode 180: Hydra’s Civil Rebirth

WallyWest

Just like DC Comics’ worst kept spoiler in a while, we’re back! On today’s episode, Brent and Ian are joined by the Raph himself, Raphael Soohoo to discuss Captain America: Civil War, Bendis’ Civil War II, Free Comic Book Day and what comics were grabbed at said Free Comic Book Day, DC Comics: Rebirth #1, DC Rebirth in general, the whole Captain America Hydra kerfuffle, Comixology Unlimited, and more! More includes how comics have changed in the past ten years since the show started, by the way. That was fun!

Ian also meant to talk about X-Men Apocalypse but didn’t, but there’s two minutes or so of talk in the after show, and there might be an Extra Point soon talking more about it. So do stay tuned for more on that and other topics, loyal listeners.

You can e-mail the show at comictiming@gmail.com and be sure to Like us on Facebook at http://www.facebook.com/ComicTiming. Be sure to follow Ian on Twitter @i_am_scifi, or on Tumblr at heehaw-ds9.tumblr.com; Brent is on Twitter too @kossinab, and Raph is @RaphReadsComics. And finally, if you want to read Raph’s Nerds of Color article that was mentioned in this episode, you can do so here.

Thanks again for listening, and we’ll catch you next time!

The PKD Black Box – Episode #38: The Warrock-M.A.S.K.-Eliopolous Super Show!

This weeks “massive edition” of The PKD Black Box starts off with Shawn having a conversation with MC Adam Warrock (aka Eugene Ahn) about his new album “The War For Infinity,” the “West Coast Avengers Mixtape,” hip-hop & geekdom and even rappers that can communicate with dolphins. Then Jason Wood from the 11 O’ Clock Comics podcast stops by to talk about college life, Busta Rhymes, and everything you need to know about M.A.S.K. as he and Shawn go all nostaligic. Last, but definitely not least co-host Jon Carroll stops by as he and Shawn have a solid interview with talented creator Chris Eliopolous (Lockjaw & The Pet Avengers) as we discuss all-ages comics, the art of lettering, why having talent at times can be overrated, and the hard work that’s necessary to make comics.

This episode is so massive that the next PKD Black Box will not air until November 10th. In it’s place for the next two weeks will be the Tales From The Attic podcast.

Shout-outs to DJ Ruckus Roboticus, Cookiehead Jenkins & the Pontiac Fiero.

Enjoy! (The PKD Black Box is a explicit podcast because at times we cuss, FYI.)
