Grawlix Cinematic Universe #6: The Thing/Big Trouble in Little China

It’s a John Carpenter double feature inspired by an unsolicited listener pitch! We revisit John Carpenter’s The Thing (1982) and Big Trouble in Little China (1986). Then we read the mash up from Matt Downs before descending into ridiculousness.

Reviews: Jessica Jones (Netflix), Batman Europa #1, Huck #1, Tomboy #1, Adventure Time: Stakes mini-series, Doctor Who

Due to the Thanksgiving weekend, co-hosts are hard to find! So Jimmy gets some help from an old listener Shay Estes. Something new as he has her record some reviews and a Top 3 and plays them for your listening pleasure. Jimmy is worried because her reviews are far more professional and way better than his. But good news for you listeners! She gives some really great insight and does some great research for her reviews/picks. You’ll love her! Jimmy also briefly chats about that last The Walking Dead episode as well as a new poster for the upcoming Game of Thrones season. (Both have a similar theme). News includes: Marvel schools you with new web series called Marvel 101, Gravity Falls is coming to an end, Felicia Day is cast in new MST3K reboot, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will premiere on January 21 and John Carpenter is developing 4 new horror/sci-fi series. Leave your iTunes comments! 5 stars and nothing but love! Also, get a hold of us!

F BombCast 104: Live We promise

The Boys are back in all their geeky glory this week. Find out how NYCC became a place kevin dreams about. Is TJ really the only one that likes Grant Morrison writing Batman? The people at NYCC seem to think so. Does Alan always seem to have a song in his head? we vote yes. The Newest channel, HUB, is discussed briefly, and kevin makes a joke that was made yesterday, but it is the answer to an age old zen koan: IF a tweet is made and you didn’t see it, are you still a douchebag? Of Course you are. Horror movies are brought up and a lot are discussed in earnest. A quick list you ask, of course i can oblige you: In the Mouth of Madness, House of the Devil, Trick R Treat, Halloween 3, Vampires, Halloween 2 (Rob Zombie Edition), Hatchet, Omen 2, The Descent, and there’s more. IF a child makes a pop culture reference but has no clue of the source material, is that tacky or awesomeness?  Then comes out the comics; Batgirl 14, Shadowland 3, Emerald Warriors 2, X-23 1, GI Joe Cobra Special 2, the Boys. Fun times were had, Hope you enjoy!

F BombCast 60: When Wild Pigs Fly

Episode 60
So the day has come and the F Bombers (including dave) were all in the same place at the same time. Somehow the world did not end nor did a fissure open and swallow us all (and that is the biggest surprise due to the shear size of us). We came (numerous Times), we Saw (Lots of Comics), and we conquered (Hyundai Elantras).IN this episode we answer some sage questions from the boy who is monkey as well as discuss Thematic differences in the musical elements of John Carpenter Films. Then The discussion turns darker as we discuss life without faith and without morality. NAH FUCK THAT, we talk lots of comics as each bomber discusses their Wild Pig Haul. We go more in depth to X titles then TJ would ever want as Mike is Confused at the Apocalypse Saga Time Line and Kevin Brings in the Dark X-Men, TJ’s love for Ennis grows As he brings the discussion the The Battlefields Collection and especially Dear Billy and kevin proclaims him king of the world, and we end the conversation up with a little CowboyNinjaViking. Enjoy, it was a blast!
