This week on the most swashbuckling LIVE comics radio show, we welcome Mark Waid back into the Monster Cave. Since we last chatted with Mark he has turned Daredevil back into an entertaining book, brought The Indestructible Hulk into the Marvel Now!, released the first issue of his new Dynamite book ‘The Green Hornet’ and he’s just been announced as the writer for IDW’s team up of the Rocketeer and The Spirit. We’ll be chatting with Mark about all this and much, much more so as always, if you have a question for Mark Waid, feel free to post it on our Facebook wall.

This is also our last show before we head out to the East Coast Comic Expo which is being held in our neighbouring city of Moncton, New Brunswick. Comic Book Pitt #81 – Grinding Gears

It truly is the season of Festivus, as both Dan and the Duke air some grievances. Duke takes umbrage with Marvel’s current polybagging of the Ultimate titles while Dan realizes that going back and rereading The Walking Dead from the beginning isn’t as easy as he thought.

Of course there is some comic talk, as D & D review Defenders #1, Mouse Guard The Black Axe #3, Valen the Outcast #1 and Irredeemable #32. There’s also some books reviewed from the recent past; 100 Bullets Vol. 5: The Counterfifth Detective and Captain Britain and MI:13.

Comic Timing – Episode 112: Mark Waid Interview

On today’s episode, Brent and I have the privilege of interviewing comics visionary and newly promoted Chief Creative Officer of Boom Studios, Mark Waid! Mark has been the writer on such books as Kingdom Come, The Flash, Amazing Spider-Man, Captain America, JLA, The Incredibles, Potter’s Field and countless others. Today, we focus on his upcoming collaboration with Stan Lee and Chris Hardin on Stan Lee’s The Traveler, a new book out of Boom. We also discuss the other two books Stan is collaborating on, we give a quick overview of Irredeemable and Incorruptible for those who have yet to pick it up, and we touch on Mark’s current Amazing Spider-Man storyline “Origin of the Species,” which will conclude the Brand New Day Era of the title.
