Chiditorad:

Nerds and nerd-friends! The Chicago Nerd Social Club is proud to be participating in Chiditarod Chicago this Saturday by running the checkpoint station at Emporium Arcade Bar! Chiditarod is now in its 9th year of causing creative mayhem for a good cause: raising funds to benefit local organizations fighting hunger, and raising food donations for the Greater Chicago Food Depository. Last year the Chiditarod Foundation awarded $20K in grant money to organizations fighting hunger, and the event raised over 17K lbs of food and over $34K in funds. If you’re interested in helping us smash those records, there are two ways you can do so:

1) Donate funds via our First Giving link – each checkpoint team is doing their part to raise funds for the Chiditarod Foundation. Help us show Chiditarod just how awesome the nerdy, geek community is – whether you’re a Chicagoan or from out of town, we’d love to have your support in any amount you are able to give. http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/ChicagoNerdSocialClub/chiditarod-2014

2) Donate food to the checkpoint! Emporium will have a food donation collection box at the bar through the race this Saturday! For a list of what would help the GCFD, go here: http://www.chiditarod.org/race-day-logistics/

And if you’re interested in checking out the race, spectators are welcome at the starting line and you can come visit us at Emporium, where we’ll be staffing our checkpoint in Star Wars cosplay, with fun games for racers and the ORIGINAL trilogy screening at the bar. Also, Emporium will be carrying a SPECIAL LIMITED BREW from Illuminated Brew Works: ChiditaRye – a dry French Rye Saison, so come on down and try it! Bonus: Emporium is donating a portion of the day’s profits to the event! Learn more at www.chiditarod.org.

Feed It Comics ep. 14 | “Four Horseman of the Podcopalypse”

ep-14

The master needs his menu prepared for the next month so the Order of Caretakers employs the temporary assistance of Josh from Apocalypse Later to present offerings. Let me be clear, this episode is an utter DEBACLE disguised as a good production, but what resulted was more endearingly idiosyncratic than one would hope.

So yes, we actually talk about somewhat current comics, and even though an entire hilarious segment was accidentally NOT recorded, and Brother Oberts had the gall to suggest we burn Avengers in the incinerator, a Frankenstein of a listenable show has come together. Please join us as we feed it comics…

If you enjoy the show, PLEASE make it a point to leave us a review on itunes, it would be incredibly cool of you and it will help us jump up in the standings. Feed It Comics ep. 12 | “Crotchless Voltron Comicon Spectacular”

ep-12 Feed It Comics

Yep yep. It has been a week since Rose City Comicon here in Portland and its high time Brother Oberts and Doc Fluxx give up some juicy details and make Brother Shepherd jealous as all get-out. Also, all three members of the order of caretakers are united to offer a review of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D and we do plenty of bantering about DC’s stupid announcements. Join us, will you?

Errors: During the episode I say “Gotham Nights” when I clearly meant “Gotham Central”. Forgive the error.
