Grawlix Bytes #7: Spawn S01E01 Commentary & More

This Grawlix Bytes Jesse and Randy try something a little different. A commentary track for the first episode of the late ’90s HBO animated series ‘Todd McFarlane’s Spawn‘. Bust out your baggy jeans and sister’s stolen black makeup because it’s about to get dark, edgy, gritty… it’s about to get ’90s! The boys also discuss Mad Max: Fury Road (because why not) and more after the commentary.

Thwipping Boys – Game of Thrones Season 5 Finale: Mother’s Mercy

Bit of a weird one this week as Jon is suffering from apparently inhaling the contents of Thorpe Lake up his nose, the boys experiment with their first ever live call in show and for the video only we also get the debut of the Japanese viral sensation YOGHURT-O-MAN!

But of course we’re here to discuss Game of Thrones and the numerous stories that come to a shocking conclusion, going a long way to saving a season that was, let’s face it, pretty mediocre for about 70% of it.

Cheers!

Thwipping Boys – Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 9: The Dance of Dragons

A truly shocking moment permeates the atmosphere throughout The Dance of Dragons and casts a shadow even as things kick off big time in Mereen.

Among other topics, did they really need to spend screentime on a paedophile subplot that seems designed to justify the upcoming murder of a character we were all quite happy to see killed anyway?

PLUS, we decide on the fly to host our first ever live call in show for the finale next week. If you would like to be involved follow us on Twitter for more info, we’ll be putting a post up with more details soon.

Thwipping Boys – Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 8: Hardhome

After seven episodes of unusually dull and bizarrely paced plotting with a fair few silly story choices, we finally get a stupendous episode in Game of Thrones’ fifth season as Jon Snerr comes face to face with the full might of his Northern nemesis.

Thwipping Boys – Game of Thrones Season 5 Episode 7: The Gift

An email from a listener brings us right back to last week’s Sansa situation and has us uncharacteristically animated as we defend the direction the showrunners have chosen to take.

However while we don’t have an issue with the tastefulness of the decisions the show is making, we DO have one with its continuing decline in quality.

Cheers!

Thwipping Boys – Game of Thrones Catch Up: Episodes 2-6

In which Simon comes up with a theory about Daario which we’ve yet to hear elsewhere, might be wrong but we think you might have heard it here first.

And as the changes from the source material continue to get crazier and crazier, Jon’s references to the book even start to piss him off. Unfortunately, it also seems that the further the show is getting from the original, the stupider it’s getting too.

Cheers!
