Comic Book Road Show

Wayne’s Comics #58 With Tommy Lee Edwards And Gregg Hurwitz

Excellent comics artist Tommy Lee Edwards is here, discussing The Random Adventures Of Brandon Generator, an online comic you can read at brandongenerator.com! He talks with me about creating Turf with Jonathan Ross, and shares his views on digital comics, among other things! You’ll enjoy what he has to say during our interview!

Next I give a quick review of the latest books, followed by ’News & Previews’ with Gianluca Glazer. Then everything wraps up with my re-airing the interesting conversation I had a couple of months back with novelist Gregg Hurwitz, who now is writing Batman: The Dark Knight. He gives a lot of insight into his writing and what he hopes to accomplish on the DC title with artist David Finch.

‘Wayne’s Comics’ #49 With Gregg Hurwitz, New ‘Dark Knight’ Writer

This week’s Wayne’s Comics podcast has yet another terrific guest — Gregg Hurwitz, accomplished novelist who has created such crime mysteries as The Crime Writer, The Kill Clause, The Program, Trust No One and You’re Next. Gregg’s recently completed a successful run on DC Comics’ Penguin: Pain And Prejudice and will be taking over the writing chores on Batman: The Dark Knight, working with excellent artist David Finch. Gregg talks about the Penguin as well as his upcoming time writing about the Scarecrow, among other things, so you won’t want to miss it!

Then I review this week’s comics, and things conclude with Gianluca Glazer and Ian Cullen discussing with me this week’s ‘News & Previews.’

Comics on Comics is proud to be the latest member of The Comics Podcast Network!

For those of you who may be unfamiliar with us, Comics on Comics is a live show/video podcast recorded in Los Angeles, where we bring professional stand-up comedians and comic book creators together for a round-table discussion of the latest comic book news. Host Juan-Manuel Rocha welcomes screenwriter & superstar comic scribe Marc Guggenheim (Amazing Spider-Man, Young X-Men, Eli Stone), Jackie Kashian (Last Comic Standing, The Dork Forest), Chris Mancini (Myopic Visions) and Mike Schmidt (The 40 Year Old Boy) for another round of comics and comedy, filmed at Dream World Comics in Culver City, CA and sponsored by Pirate King!

This week, our panel examines the merits of the upcoming $3.99 increase for monthly comics, delves into Stan Lee’s TV adaptation of novelist Perry Moore’s Hero, Brett Ratner’s Conan film, the relocation of the X-men to San Francisco and wages the ultimate debate: Married Spider-Man vs. Single Spidey!
