Super Hero Speak – #134: Jessica Jones AKA Jewel of Denial

This week Dave, Ben and John review Jessica Jones. The latest in the Marvel Netflix series Jessica delivers a gritty and deeply emotional punch. Be warned as usual this episode contains spoilers for Jessica Jones. Though the guys all agree the show is really good, some of them don’t agree with the subject matter of the show and this leads to a nice long debate. Sweet Christmas this is an interesting episode. But please let us know your opinions on the show. We really want to hear from you whether via email/Twitter or Facebook all feedback is welcome. Sit back and enjoy our review of Jessica Jones.

Comic Book Pitt #81 – Grinding Gears

It truly is the season of Festivus, as both Dan and the Duke air some grievances. Duke takes umbrage with Marvel’s current polybagging of the Ultimate titles while Dan realizes that going back and rereading The Walking Dead from the beginning isn’t as easy as he thought.

Of course there is some comic talk, as D & D review Defenders #1, Mouse Guard The Black Axe #3, Valen the Outcast #1 and Irredeemable #32. There’s also some books reviewed from the recent past; 100 Bullets Vol. 5: The Counterfifth Detective and Captain Britain and MI:13.

Comic Book Pitt episodes will now be featured on Old Game Reviewer, a blog focused on geek culture. If you’re into comics, games, music, movies, TV, tech, toys, etc, there’s a very good chance you’ll find something of interest at OGR, so go check ’em out and tell them CBP sent you.

We had some fun talking about the cheesiest gimmick covers that we could think of, but we want to find more. Send us the worst gimmick covers you can find, either ones that you might have stashed in your own collection or if you remember one from years ago, try to find the image online. Send all pictures to comicbookpitt@gmail.com.

The music in this episode is “Vigilante Christmas” by Kirby Krackle.

Comic Book Pitt t-shirts are now available! Get one for yourself or that special nerd in your life.
