Tales of the Justice Society of America – Episode #15

0d9c

Hey, Kids!! What time is it? It’s “Tales of the Justice Society of America” time, of course!! (kinda like Peanut Butter Jelly Time only longer and less annoying)

This is kind of an odd episode, but don’t let that scare you because — Hell, they’re ALL odd episodes, right?!! Don’t tell me you hadn’t noticed. Anyhow, there is a LOT of awesome Justice Society talk to be had this time ’round, beginning with a “thought provoking” discussion about precisely which team Power Girl “plays for” romantically-speaking. Then, the guys dive into the two big JSA TV appearances of late — the SMALLVILLE “movie”, “ABSOLUTE JUSTICE” (which, wonder of wonders, miracles of miracles, Scott actually watched and has some good things to say about!) and “The Golden Age of Justice” episode of BATMAN: THE BRAVE AND THE BOLD (in which Mike and Scott debate the merits of the series as a whole and Scott speaks of his “issues” with the show). The conversations range from talk about Lois Lane (including just how incredibly hot Dana Delany really is) to just what the guys thought of this first live-action interpretation of their beloved JSA.

There are also e-mails galore, which the guys love reading on the air so keep ’em coming, and THEN — The Main Event — Scott and Mike discuss DC SUPER-STARS #17, featuring the origin of the Huntress!

Last but not least — the feature you just can’t get enough of — The Hostess ads!! Yup, they just continue gettin’ weirder as — (gasp!!) Wonder Woman fights a billboard! Heh, we couldn’t make this shit up if we tried!

Also, a surprise BONUS ad so bizarre that it has to be heard to be believed!!

F BombCast 67: A Musical Interlude

When the left balls away, the music will play. At least they didn’t talk sports. In a very musical edition of the FBC, TJ is feeling generous and starts handing out compliments left and right, but it all comes crashing down as he describes his craptastic day and his hatred for children’s show characters, specifically Ni Hao Kai Lan’s Friends. We learn that the F has been taken away from an F Bomber, but for a good cause with an awesome reward at the end of the tunnel. A new segmant is introduced: Musical Infatuation, where at least two of the bombers will speak of some music they have been obsessed with in the past week and play a representative clip. This week TJ plays Cygnus… Vismund Cygnus by the Mars Volta and Mike waxes poetic of Ricky Warwick and Belfast Confetti. We actually talk some comics too: War of Kings, Exiles, PunisherMax, HellBlazer, and Brave and the Bold. Enjoy!

Music Played:
The Mars Volta: Frances the Mute
Ricky Warwick: Belfast Confetti

Tales of the Justice Society of America – Episode 3

Why can’t super-villains simply be content to rob banks and leave Earth’s orbit and its supply of Hostess Cupcakes alone?!

0d9c

In this hilarious episode, hosts Michael Bailey and Scott H. Gardner read some listener feedback, take a peek at a portion of a classic JSA adventure, review All-Star Comics issue #59, deliver some JSA news, character spotlight one of Scott’s all-time favorite comic book heroes, the Earth-2 Robin, examining both the similarities as well as the vast differences between him and his Earth-1 counterpart, and finally wrap the whole thing up with a fascinating discussion of the classic and often zany comic book ads found in these great old issues — such as The Battle of The Century and The Cupcake Caper!!

F BombCast 54: Bob Saget Rules

Episode 54

Kevin wonders why i don’t listen to his suggestions but then suggest that we name episodes after something that is so briefly mentioned on the show that i sneezed this morning and missed it, Oh well i sort of listened this time. The three amigos are back together and it takes a while of idling for them to get their engines revved again. I am sort of out of it so lets see if the normal talk is discussed: 1) Genitals-Check 2)Cum-Check 3)poop-nope 3)meat-check 4)porn-check 5)movies-check 6)comics-check 7)Star Trek-nope. Comics Discussed are Walking Dead 1 and some sort of manga thing on his iPod Touch app. Warren Ellis’s X-Man series from around 2000 and JMS’s first Brave and the bold issue. Have fun folks and bear with us during those trying minutes. kthxbye!
