Zone 4 #250: Major Announcements

Zone-4-250

This is it! The 250th episode of Zone 4!

We’ve promised huge announcements about the future of the show, and boy do we deliver!

The crew opens up with one of their famous radio drama skits to kick things off with a bang. And then it’s into a very loose-format show this time around. No headlines, no Topic Time, just general conversation about comics, TV, film and much more!

We do have Facecbook Shout-Outs this week, four of them! And we do have plugs.

And then, of course, there are the announcements. We start sprinkling them throughout the show, then just barrel them out toward the end. There are also audio clips from certain individuals who you’ll be hearing from a lot in the future!

Our special guest, Chuck Moore, had to back out sadly, and we missed him, but he’ll be back!

So sit back, strap in, and grab some bacon candy… and let the celebration begin!

Comics Alternative Podcast Episode 49: August Previews & Our One-Year Anniversary!

It’s Our Birthday!

BirthdayBalloonThis week on The Comics Alternative Andy and Derek celebrate their one-year anniversary!  The podcast began one year ago this month — August 1, 2012, was the inaugural episode — and the Two Guys with PhDs mark the event by doing what they do best: bringing you insightful commentary on upcoming titles and comics news. Most of this episode is devoted to the August Previews AugustPreviewscatalog, but Andy and Derek also discuss the significance of the podcast’s ongoing mission, their plans for future shows, the August Comics Alternative giveaway, and the various correspondences they have recently received. Regarding the latter, they respond to an email from Jackie Estrada, an administrator for the Will Eisner Comic Industry Awards, concerning last week’s roundtable discussion on SDCC and the Eisners. The Two Guys address the administrator’s concerns, apologize for certain oversights, and place last week’s comments within a larger context (including their previous conversations on the 2013 Eisner Award nominees). There is a lot packed into this week’s episode — over two-hours worth! — and the guys hope that you join in their anniversary celebration by lifting a pint, turning on your podcast-listening device, and enjoying the warm nougaty goodness that is The Comics Alternative.

Comic Book Pitt #80 – Three Year Anniversary

Three years ago last week we put the first episode of CBP online. That first episode was hilarious, it took us twice as long to figure out how to record, edit and upload the episode than the actual length of the episode itself.

In this 80th episode Duke gives his two cents on The Walking Dead (SPOILERS!) and of course there’s some comic talk. We discuss Fantastic Four #600, FF #12, I, Vampire #3, and the Mystery Men mini-series.

The intro for this episode was provided by Nick Marino, creator of the webcomic Stick Cats.

Comic Book Pitt theme music is by Nik Furious. You can find more of Nik’s music at NikFurious.com.

Comic Book Pitt t-shirts are now available! Get one for yourself or that special nerd in your life.

Comic Book Pitt can be found on iTunes, on Facebook, and on Twitter.
