Alternate Reality – Episode 395

Alternate Reality – Episode #395

After a week off Jon and Charlie are back with another jam-packed episode.  We’re covering two weeks’ worth of books tonight.  The boys start off with a very thoughtful email from longtime friend of the show Matthew Kaiser.  Then they go thought a bevy of books from Darth Vader to Justice League and everything in between.

Next, we spend some time talking about the latest Kickstarter project from Jimmy Palmiotti and they guys and girls over at Paperfilms.  This new project is a mature graphic novel featuring nudity, sex, guns, violence, and death.  What’s not to love?  This in-your-face adventure called “Killing Time in America” was a fantastic read and Jon gives us a glimpse of what makes the book so special.

Lastly Jon and Charlie talk about San Diego Comic Con, all the movie trailers that came out, as well as DC’s new steaming service.

It’s a huge Elvis themed rocking good time on the week’s Alternate Reality,…. Enjoy!!!

It’s our Best of 2016! And just like last year, Jimmy sits down with The Beat’s Heidi MacDonald and good pal Jon Hoche to go over their 2016 favorites in comic books, TV and film. They didn’t read or watch everything released that year, so it’s just the Best of what they did read/watch. Fun discussions on great comics, their creators, TV shows, films, actors and more. Jimmy is joined in studio by Dana Aber! Loyal listeners will remember Dana co-hosting last year and we can only apologize for taking so long to have her back on. They chat about the nerdy Super Bowl ads and trailers and if they’ve picked a side in Captain America: Civil War yet.  News includes: Supergirl and The Flash will crossover on CBS, Jimmy Palmiotti and Amanda Conner set a new signing policy for conventions that everyone should adapt, Bryan Fuller will be the showrunner on the new Star Trek series at CBS, the new Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens video game will reveal more info, Jackie Earle Haley joins Preacher, Alicia Witt will be in season 7 of The Walking Dead, Legion adds Dan Steven/Aubrey Plaza/Jean Smart, and Riverdale gets its Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse).
