Not a happy weekend to say the least. OK, i don’t normally do this, i don’t normally post anything about my personal life, in fact, i don’t think I’ve done it before but unfortunately this time i have to. My Grandfather died last night and it has not been easy. We were expecting it but as you know, even when you do it’s hard on you and you find yourself not really in sync with the rest of the world. It’s worse actually because my Grandmother will be alone now and living away from the rest of us, since she’s in Italy and we’re in Portugal, we now have one more problem to solve. I’m an only child and my parents both have deep economic and work related roots here in Portugal. It wouldn’t be fair to ask one of them to go there to stay with her and since she doesn’t want to leave we’re left with only two options, either i go there or we get someone to be with her, like a house sitter. I’m not so sure how i feel about that. We’re flying to Milan tomorrow so i wanted this posted early so you know why the season will be cut short. I’m not really myself right now and until i find out if i have to pack all my life to go live in another country i don’t think I’ll be putting out any more episodes. Could be at least a month. I love doing the ICN, i have met great people through it and made friends. I hope i get to continue soon. So, this is it, hiatus until further notice. The webmaster will keep posting news on the Network site but from me, this is it, for now. I hope you all are having a great year and that you keep it that way.
Here we go, Part One of our Sentinels Anthology Spotlight. We’re joined by Rich Bernatovech and Jamie Fay to discuss the upcoming release of the next Sentinels book and whatever else came to mind. Back to Tek with Jim Massey. We start off our talk from the very beginning and that means Death takes a Holiday! “Somewhere between Sesame Street and The Sopranos lies Division 18: The Union of Novelty Costumed Performers. It’s the heartwarming story of a bunch of thugs fronting as costumed entertainers… or are they costumed entertainers fronting as thugs?” – We find out on this episode of the ICN. Matt Bergin and Jeremy Donelson come on the show and talk about their quirky comic, “the only fun comic out right now”… or so we claim in 40 minutes of comic talk.
We get pumped with Saturday Morning Cartoon style Comic, Mwumba. Find out all about Cassandra and her “world” and what happens when someone steals her thunder. We’re on a vegetable free diet for this episode, we can’t help it, it’s Mwumban law! We talk with Bruce Brown about his creation, his work in general and the All Ages Comic landscape, all here on the ICN.
So we start our road to Episode 100 with Steve Englehart. With no introduction needed for such a big influence in comics we kick it into high gear. Comics, Novels, Spain and Portugal, a little bit of everything in a fun interview on the ICN.
The Co-founder of Komikwerks, Shannon Eric Denton, comes to the ICN and shows us how busy he really is. Graveslinger, Grunts, The Revenant, Komikwerks, Zapt!, Actionopolis… we cover everything and let you know if he has time for anything else. Episode 50 is just around the corner, be sure to tune in next week as we celebrate it with ICN Co-founder Mike Myers, fellow Geek Bruncher Heath Holland and Rich Bernatovech.
