We are available on iTunes as well by looking for "sfp-now."

‘Wayne’s Comics’ #61 With Shawn Aldridge From ‘Vic Boone: Malfunction Murder’

To celebrate this week’s release of 215 Ink’s Vic Boone: Malfunction Murder trade paperback, which allowed me to re-enjoy that terrific story, I’m re-airing last year’s fun interview with Shawn Aldridge, creator of that comic series. What he discussed with me is still very timely, including how the character was developed, how he got into comics, and his perspective on making comics today. Be sure not to miss it!

Then I review this week’s comics, followed by Gianluca Glazer joining me for the most recent ‘News & Previews,’ and everything wraps up with my return to your local comics shop to see what’s new!

Wayne’s Comics #60 With Jeff Kaufman From ‘Whore’

It’s the 60th episode of the Wayne’s Comics podcast!

We start with an entertaining and informative interview with Jeff Kaufman, who discusses Whore, his latest graphic novel from Zenescope. This one is not for the kids, but it’s a very fun and engaging comic about the experiences of Jacob Mars following his expulsion as a government-employed contract killer. Without a guaranteed government check for doing some pretty nasty things, he’s willing to do whatever it takes to earn some cash — even if it involves taking jobs with no concern for moral or ethical ramifications. Be sure to contact your local comics shop ASAP and order it so you can pick it up in September!

Following that, I give some comics reviews, then discuss the latest ‘News & Previews’ with Gianluca Glazer. Then everything wraps up with my review of The Dark Knight Rises, which I really enjoyed!

SFP-NOW Ep49 – With Lee Meriwether

Wow, for awhile there it didn’t look like we were going to get episode 49 ready before I left for my new house, but somehow we managed it despite some real life issues getting in the way.

This episode is massively cut back to the point where we’re featuring a stand alone interview with the lovely Lee Meriwether who is best known to genre fans for a number of television shows, but is perhaps best known to fans of Batman for her portrayal of Catwoman in the 1966 movie, which was shot after the TV series.

Over the course of 40 minutes Lee looks back at her career and discusses some of the fantastic people show got to work with on Batman as well as on Star Trek and Mission Impossible. So be sure not to miss out on this if you have a love of television from what many would consider a classic era.
