Trentus Magnus Punches Reality- Episode 12- Superman Begins Interlude- Magnus, Scott and Chris Talk Superman

In this unplanned-but-nevertheless-ball-rending episode, Magnus joins forces with Scott and Chris from Two True Freaks (www.twotruefreaks.com) to gab about Superman. His Excellency Magnus is awesome even when improvising while Scott and Chris ain’t half bad themselves.

Do you have a suggestion for a topic? Feel free to e-mail me at trentusmagnus@gmail.com and I might consider thinking about the possibility of potentially discussing whatever you have in mind some day. And that’s a promise!

This week we look at the epic adventures of Uller and Wilf as we cover Thor: Godstorm #1!! This is one of the best Silver Age Thor comics since the Silver Age, featuring a villain with unclear motivations, Jane Foster being sappy, levitating farts, Loki being insidious, Odin being a dick, and the Avengers!

Real Books Don’t Have Batman: Halloween Episode

If you’re a slasher fan, you always wanted to see Freddy fight Jason, and if you craved more after that, there’s a comic out there that sprinkled Evil Dead into the mix. This Halloween, we tackle Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash, and its sequel, subtitled: The Nightmare Warriors. So much fanservice.

Everything Blows with Ross and Nick #10

Everything Blows with Ross and Nick
Listen to Everything Blows #10 right now:

Sleepwalkin’ pt 3 of 4!

Announcing the Sleepwalker Fanart Contest! We’re giving away the entire run of Sleepwalker — 34 weird issues! — to one lucky listener. Draw Sleepwalker or write some Sleepwalker fanfic and submit it to us with a link in the comments no later than Monday, November 11th. We’ll name the winner on our next episode!!!

We kick off this episode with a discussion about the brand-spanking-new X-Men: Days of Future Past trailer.

We ask ourselves: “Who would I be if I could be any mutant in the DoFP movie?” Ross Campbell would be Marrow and Nick Marino would be Mole.

Next up, we tumble into nine terrible issues of the early 90s catastrophe that is Sleepwalker #17-24 (and the Holiday special!). Brett Blevins and Mike Manley depart as Kelly Krantz and John Lowe assume the roles of penciler and inker.

Everybody’s got a hand in the chaos, from Bob Budiansky’s overwritten scripts to Krantz and Lowe’s awkward linework to Marie Javins’s sloppy colors to Richard Starkings’s wonky letters. Ross made some gnarly scans.

But as rough as these issues are at times, they’re still packed full of goofy mainstream superhero wackiness.

After the end theme… comic book news! (sorta)

Next: Our review marathon ends with Sleepwalker #25-33.
