Jimmy was at Heroes Con last weekend and moderated a few panels. This particular one was with Steve Niles and Bernie Wrightson! They discussed their recent collaboration, Frankenstein Alive, Alive! This led to a lot of chatting about favorite Frankenstein movies and how old Bernie was when he saw his first one. The conversation organically flowed into lots of their other work including Swamp Thing, 30 Days of Night, and Criminal Macabre. Steve and Bernie were old neighbors and talk about their Scrabble nights where they would come up with story ideas. A great discussion with 2 amazing creators! Leave your iTunes comments! 5 stars and nothing but love!

Nick Marino goes solo to disclose the shocking secrets behind the Work for Hire story arc, which concludes today at SuperHaters.com.
Here’s a glimpse at one of the stripped down Haters scripts.
Okay, there aren’t actually any shocking secrets in this audio commentary… but there’s tons of behind-the-scenes info about the creation and production of this 20-page tale that introduces Wet Dream and Sister Hoodoo to the Super Haters lore.
After the end theme, Nick teases what you can expect to see next in Super Haters (hint: NOT Super Haters #400) and he announces a brand new AudioShocker podcast by Shawn Atkins called Gello Shots, debuting next Thursday, July 5th.

Welcome to part two of my conversation with Mr. Peter Rios. We spend the majority of the episode talking about New Teen Titans: Games (warning: spoilers) and our love of the New Teen Titans in general. Near the end, Peter talks about the fundraiser to send Julian Lytle to Morrisoncon, and then Peter discusses what’s coming next month from him. It’s not to be missed!
Peter made my weekend by cohosting the show with me, and I can’t thank him enough. 🙂

Ross Campbell is reading Love and Rockets instead of the Iron Man comics he told Nick that he would read. Nick Marino is slowly reading the Sleepwalker comics he promised Ross that he would read… but he also went overboard and bought nearly 100 backissues last weekend at Copacetic Comics!
Both dudes are enjoying Bobby Curnow and Dave Wachter‘s Night of 1000 Wolves. Same goes for Saga, even though Nick is being stupid about the cover to #3.
Ross has been a little worried lately that he’s not “adult” enough and links it back to his intense interest in different characters and stories. WHERE DOES THAT PASSION COME FROM AND HOW COME EVERYONE DOESN’T HAVE IT???
Art intermission!
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles by Aaron M. Conley
That inspires Nick to tell about his nephew’s inordinate interest in Black Widow… which leads to Ross’s story about drawing scantily clad mermaids for little kids.
In this special episode it’s an Archaia Publishing extravaganza! I review several of their titles (that you must pick up, they’re so wonderful), including Mouse Guard, Labyrinth and Other Stories, Cow Boy, Spera, Black Fire, and Jim Henson’s Tale of Sand. Just think; this is merely a handful of amazing titles that Archaia has to offer!
