WELCOME TO A SPECIAL EPISODE OF TALES OF THE JUSTICE SOCIETY OF AMERICA! It’s a special episode because, unfortunately, one of the hosts is taking a bit of a hiatus. As Mike and Scott explain in the episode Scott has to take a little time off for personal reasons, so the foreseeable future Mike is going to be handling the show solo. All of the details are in the episode so listen out for that towards the end of the episode. In the meantime enjoy this AWESOME episode as Scott and Mike discuss ALL-STAR SQUADRON #9, which sees not only the conclusion of the story started in the previous episode but also the conclusion of the previously untold story of STEEL, THE INDESTRUCTIBLE MAN. The story sparks some interesting conversation too as the guys talk about the Holocaust, why beating on Nazis is the best thing ever and the possible secret relationship between Baron Blitzkrieg and his dwarf assistant. They also talk about the awesome showdown between Robotman and Steel and how creepy Robotman’s face is. Plus there is a rather long digression about the SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN and how shows the guys loved when they were younger hold up today. Finally there is ELSEWHERE IN THE DC MULTI-VERSE and that is pretty much that. Remember, folks, Scott will return! Until then tune in every Friday as Mike holds down the fort as best he can. Reading assignment for next week: FLASH #123, “THE FLASH OF TWO-WORLDS”
YOU GOT THAT?!! GOOD! CUZ IT WILL BE THE MOST EPIC THING SINCE EVER ALL OVER AGAIN AND AGAIN!!
Episode 217 RERELEASE FIXED AUDIO: Special Oversized Episode: Jim and Sean discuss the many tidbits from San Diego and focus heavily on the changes to team books. There is also an indepth look at Supergirl 54 and Legion #3. We are joined by Darrell Taylor as we discuss Batman Odyssey #1. Plus we have plenty of listener voicemails and emails in a packed episode.
Alternate Reality has survived the storm and is back this week with awesome comic reviews. Check out True Blood #1 from IDW as Charlie explains why you should be buying this book. Jon Gushes about the ultimate cheesecake of New Ultimates #3, and Chris opines about the beauty of Cowboy Ninja Viking #7. But all is not peaches and cream as there are definite disagreements between the cast on the quality of books like Avengers, Green Hornet, and Neonomicon. Hey to each his own right. And lastly Jon makes some terribly racist comments. We’re totally not responsible for that guy,…. we don’t know him.

We mostly break format except for some reviews, including Shadowland #1, Daredevil #508, Flash Gordon #1, The Eternal Smile TPB, Blackjack, The World of Quest, and Super Spy: Lost Dossiers. After that, we pretty much just tell some stories abour San Diego which we hope are at least mildly interesting. Other than that, all our other features will be back next week. Hope to see you there.

Kevin is a big fat lousy quitter, as is Mike, But fear not fellow F Bombers, TJ is hanging in there to experience the Cancer that you all crave. San Diego Comic Con just finished up and Kevin Regales you with all the News that is as boring as shit. (Not Kevin’s Fault, nothing really exciting came out.) It does spawn a lengthy conversation where our heroes discuss the possibility of a a Watchmen sequel and who should write it. TJ is on a murdered Kid kick and discusses Lovely Bones as well as Gone Baby Gone and the trailer for the Greatest Ensemble cast Film is discussed, Machete. Monkey Boy breaks out some English lit and we discuss the books that made us love our childhood as well as the ones that made those High School days just a little bit longer. We end up with a kevin insta-Five of top five ended or cancelled Comic Books that we wish would be revived.
A few months back Adam, Joel, and Tee of the Dollar Bin got together for their first two guest skypephonerview. Who were the lucky test subjects? Why none other than former Editor in Chief of Marvel Comics Tom DeFalco and his comics life partner and artist extraordinaire, Ron Frenz. Listen as they discuss their work with Spider-Girl, Spider-man, Marvel Team-Up, and a plethora of other greatnesses.
Reviews: CBGB #1, Time Masters #1 & True Blood #1.
