CCL Podcast #139 – Daredevil: The Devil Inside and Out Vol. 2

Collected Comics Library Podcast #139
20,005Kb; 21m 04s

This weeks’ show is sort of a follow up to Show #115, when I reviewed Daredevil: The Devil Inside and Out Vol. 1. Volume 2 starts off with Matt Murdock’s search for the culprit in Europe and has some very nice elements to it. I’m really beginning to like Ed Brubaker, in fact he may just be my favorite writer at the moment.
Not too much else to go over this week. Except for the Nick Fury delay, which I vehemently blogged about on Tuesday, the news is pretty slow. I do go over the New Releases of the Week and add in a new Halloween related Question of the Month for October.
Lastly, don’t try to call me on the voice mail. I decided to turn it off. It just wasn’t getting a whole lot of use, and frankly I don’t blame you. It’s too expensive to call, so from now on come by the Forum or shoot me an e-mail.

Just Another Fanboy – Episode 54

Meep!

It’s a short one folks as this week Steeven goes solo.

He reviews the Invincible Ultimate Collection Volume One Hardcover from Image comics and X-Force #1 from Marvel Comics.

He doesn’t really do much else but play a rocking song, and try to kill a cat.

Be there or be someone who’s not there and is then really sad and can’t face the look of themselves in the mirror.

CCL Podcast #138 – When Trades Collide! Greatest Flash X 2

Collected Comics Library Podcast #138
38,644Kb; 40m 57s

It’s the second edition of “When trades Collide!” here on the CCL. This time I compare The Greatest Flash Stories Ever Told (1991) and The Flash: The Greatest Stories Ever Told (2007), including contents, the similarities, the differences, and which book is better.
Secondly, I put to rest (for the time being) the total confusion that we have been having over the scheduling changes to some of your favorite Collected Editions.
Comic Book Binding was the subject over at Comic Geek Speak episode 290 and I dive into that a little but. Also David Peterson (Mouse Guard) is signing at Detroit Comics this week and I will be in attendance, come on by and say hello and buy a trade or two.
Congratulations go out to Aaron from Barlett, TN, who correctly guessed that, Marvel Masterworks: X-Men Volume 4 is missing from my collection. He will be getting a copy of Showcase Presents Green Lantern Volume 1.

Wednesday’s Haul 9/19/07– The Death of Superman redux

Dr. Thirteen cover sketch by Cliff ChiangThe great thing about doing a podcast is that when you can’t think of stuff to talk about, someone will go and put out a movie based on a comic book that you can blather about for a while. This week, it happens to be Superman/Doomsday, the animated adaptation of everyone’s favorite 90’s story; the death and return of Superman. You remember that, don’t you? It’s the storyline that gave us two of the baddies that are now appearing in The Sinestro Corps War. But even more exciting is the Best Buy exclusive giveaway, a digest size reprinting of the first two chapters of Darwyn Cooke’s The New Frontier.

While you’re at it, head on over to The Noisy Awards and nominate your favorite comic and creators for the Noisy Awards. The first part of the nominating process is now open.
